Serging A Butterfly Fitted Cloth Diaper

I am a super perfectionist.  Some of my friends were having issues serging fitteds, so whats a girl to do but make a video of how to serge the hardest of all fitted styles!  Enjoy the video 🙂

How many diapers

A new baby means time to round out the diaper stash!  I sold some of my daughters used diapers as I choose new styles that I liked so now I need to sew up some new diapers for the new bean on the way.  The following is what I plan on having in each size.  I also have a daughter who will be 18 months old when the new baby is born so the larger sizes will be in use now while the baby is still in the smaller diapers.

Tiny Newborn – for when baby is brand new and needs a teeny tiny diaper!
– 24 preemie prefolds

– 10 wipe clean covers

– 12 AI2s

– 12 fitteds

Total 48 changes

Newborn

– 18 infant prefolds

– 6 wipe clean covers

– 12 AI2s

– 8 pockets

– 12 fitteds

Total 50 changes

Small

– 18 infant prefolds – The same I will use for newborn

– 6 wipe clean covers

– 8 AI2s

– 12 pockets

– 12 fitteds

Total 50 changes

Medium

– 18 premium prefolds

– 6 wipe clean covers

– 8 AI2s

– 16 pockets

– 8 fitteds

Total 50 changes

One Size

– 12 pockets

Total 12 changes

You may notice that that is a LOT of changes in each size!  The reason I plan for so many in each size is that I KNOW I am lazy about taking care of the diaper laundry and with having that many in each size I dont have to worry about running out of prepared diapers.  You could easily get away with as few as 18-24 changes worth of diapers.
